Cedar Rapids, IA - The Midwest League and MiLB.com announced Monday that Kernels pitcher Clark Beeker has been named the Midwest League Player of the Week for the period ending July 30th.
Beeker threw a complete game shutout on July 29th vs. Clinton, allowing just five hits and striking out seven while issuing no walks. The Twins selected Beeker in the 33rd round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Davidson College.
Gareth Morgan of Clinton was named the Midwest League Player of the Week for the same period.
Beeker is the fourth Kernel this season to receive Midwest League weekly honors, joining Travis Blankenhorn (June 21st), Lewin Diaz (May 7th) and Jermaine Palacios (April 23rd).

The Kernels continue a seven-game home stand tonight at 6:35 PM vs. Clinton. Gates open at 5:30 PM and the current home stand continues through Friday, August 4th.
