Poche Earns BC® Relief Pitcher Award

MARIETTA, GA - The Southern League of Professional Baseball Clubs are proud to announce that Jackson Generals LHP Colin Poche has been named the BC^® Relief Pitcher of the Month for April.
Poche, 24, earned the recognition following a dominant month on the mound for the league-leading Jackson Generals. The Texas native recorded nine scoreless outings for Jackson, allowing just three hits and two walks over 11.0 innings of work. He notched his first save of the season in a 5-4 comeback victory over the Birmingham Barons on April 16.

The southpaw leads all Southern League relievers this year with 23 strikeouts, and is allowing a league-low 4.09 baserunners per nine innings pitched. Opponents this season are hitting just .086 (3-for-35) against the Dallas Baptist University product, the second lowest mark against all qualified relievers.
Selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 14^th round of the 2016 MLB Amateur Draft, Poche was named a 2017 Organization All-Star by MiLB.com, and has compiled a 4-3 record alongside a 1.75 ERA (18 ER/91.2 IP) through his first 61 professional games. This is his first season in the Southern League.
