Domenick Carlini rejoins Kernels from Extended Spring Training

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that LHP Domenick Carlini will rejoin the Kernels from Extended Spring Training and RHP Quin Grogan has been assigned to Extended Spring Training. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.
The Twins selected Carlini in the 21st round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Southeastern Louisiana University. He has appeared in two games for the Kernels (one start) posting a 4.05 ERA with no record. In 6.2 IP, he allowed six hits and three runs (all earned) with two walks and seven strikeouts.
Grogan has made two relief appearances for the Kernels this year, allowing no runs and five hits over 2.1 IP. He has walked one, struck out three and has a save.
Carlini is active and is the scheduled starter for tonight's 6:30 PM game in Peoria. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster remains at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with four players currently on the DL.

The Kernels resume a four-game road trip tonight at 6:30 PM at Peoria. They return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, May 2nd and open a six-game home stand with games against Lake County and Fort Wayne.
