MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (June 23, 2017) - Former Myrtle Beach Pelicans outfielder Mark Zagunis made his major league debut with the Chicago Cubs on Thursday at Marlins Park in Miami. Zagunis is the 161st former Pelican to reach The Show, and the sixth to make his debut in 2017.
Rated by MLB.com as the No. 6 prospect in Chicago's organization. Zagunis went 0-for-5 with an RBI and stolen base against the Marlins, helping the Cubs to a 11-1 win. 

The right-handed batting outfielder played in 115 games with the Pelicans in 2015, hitting .271/.406/.412 with 24 doubles, five triples, eight home runs and 54 RBIs.
The 24-year-old was called up from Triple-A on Monday after hitting .249/.399/.474 with 13 doubles, one triple, 11 home runs and 35 RBIs in 65 games with the Iowa Cubs.
