Portland, Maine - The Eastern League has announced their weekly award winners for July 30-August 5, selecting Portland's Kyle Hart as this week's pitcher of the week.

Portland, Maine - The Eastern League has announced their weekly award winners for July 30-August 5, selecting Portland's Kyle Hart as this week's pitcher of the week.

Hart tossed a two-hit shutout on August 2nd in game two of a doubleheader against the Erie SeaWolves at Hadlock Field. The lefty scattered two hits, two walks, fanned five and retired the final 11 batters faced. The complete-game was the first of his career, earning his 13th professional win.
The 25-year old was the only pitcher in the Eastern League to pitch a shutout or a complete game last week and he also led all Eastern League pitchers in batting average against (.087) and tied for the league lead in ERA (0.00) and wins (1). He also finished ranked among the weekly league leaders in WHIP (0.57-3rd).
TThe Cincinnati, Ohio native is 7-7, 3.78 ERA (46 ER/109.2 IP) in 19 starts in his first Double-A season. Hart was a 19th round pitched by the Boston Red Sox in the 2016 draft out of Indiana University.
Hart is Portland's first Eastern League Pitcher of the Week winner since Teddy Stankiewicz on August 1-7, 2017.
