Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that INF Joe Cronin has been promoted to Fort Myers (FSL) and INF Amaurys Minier has been activated from the 7-day DL. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.
Cronin played in 48 games for the Kernels this season, batting .195 (31-159) with 4 HR and 12 RBI. He was selected by the Twins in the 34th round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Boston College.
Minier went on the DL back on August 17th with a left hamstring strain. He has played 32 games for the Kernels, batting .142 (15-106) with 3 HR and 15 RBI. He was signed by the Twins as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2012.
Minier is active and available for tonight's 6:35 PM game with Burlington. With today's transaction, the Kernels roster is at the Midwest League maximum of 25 active players, with seven players currently on the DL and one player currently on the military leave list.

The Kernels are in the midst of the final three-game home stand of the regular season against the Burlington Bees that continues through Friday, September 1st. All game start at 6:35 PM with the gates opening at 5:30 PM.
