Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that LHP Lewis Thorpe has been activated from the 7-day disabled list and promoted to Fort Myers of the Florida State League. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.
Thorpe has not pitched in a minor league game since the 2014 season when he made 16 starts for the Kernels, posting a 3-2 record and 3.52 ERA. In 71.2 IP, he allowed 62 hits and 37 runs (28 earned) with 36 walks and 80 strikeouts. He was signed by the Twins as an international free agen in 2012 and missed the 2015 and 2016 season due to Tommy John surgery.

The Kernels begin a four-game road trip tonight in Appleton, WI against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers at 6:35 PM. They return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium and open a four-game home stand against the Clinton LumberKings that runs through Thursday, May 25th.
