SALEM, Virginia (June 24, 2019) - The Carolina League has announced the Players of the Week for June 20-23rd. Marcus Wilson has blasted his way into the honor after sending out four home runs in the past three consecutive games.

Wilson kicked-off the second half of the season on the road in Kinston. Against Down East, the slugger hit .615 with eight hits in four games, half of his connections flying out of the park. He drove in eight runs and stole two bases for a 1.615 slugging percentage and 2.303 OPS.

The centerfielder has played among three affiliates this season, combining for 10 home runs to a .503 slugging percentage, 12 extra-base hits and 30 RBI.

MLB Pipeline recognizes Marcus Wilson as the 21st-best player in the Boston minor league system after he was traded for Blake Swihart from Arizona in April.

The selection is the second of the season for the Salem Red Sox. Jarren Duran's honor in May marks both every day Sox centerfielders to nab the honor.

The Salem Red Sox are the Advanced-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox and call Haley Toyota Field in Salem, Virginia home. The team was founded in 1968 and purchased by Fenway Sports Management in December of 2007.
