MARIETTA, GA - The Southern League of Professional Baseball Clubs are proud to announce that Montgomery Biscuits infielder Nathaniel Lowe has been named Player of the Week and Mississippi Braves starter Enderson Franco has been named Pitcher of the Week. Both awards recognize these players' performances for games during the week of July 30 - August 5.

Lowe earns Player of the Week honors after appearing in six games for Montgomery, guiding the Biscuits to a 4-2 record and an outright lead of the Southern League's second half North Division standings. The 23-year-old Lowe finished among the Southern League leaders this past week in batting average (.455, 2nd), on-base percentage (.586, 2nd), and slugging percentage (.864, 3rd). Lowe's five extra-base hits and 19 total bases were tied for the most in the Southern League during that stretch.

Since making his Southern League debut on June 8, the Tampa Bay Rays no. 12 prospect leads all qualified hitters in both batting average (.339) and RBI (41) while slugging the second most home runs (13) in the league during that span. A two-time Florida State League Player of the Month in 2018, Lowe is just the second Southern League player (joining Jacksonville's Isan Díaz) to win a pair of Southern League Player of the Week awards this season. He is the second straight Mississippi State University alum (joining Chattanooga's Brent Rooker) to be named Southern League Player of the Week.
Franco, 25, is recognized as Pitcher of the Week following a pair of high quality starts for the Mississippi Braves. The Anaco, Venezuela native led the Southern League this past week with 14.0 IP and produced both the lowest WHIP (0.50) and opponent's batting average (.130) among pitchers with two starts.

Franco was claimed off waivers by the Atlanta Braves in December 2015 and has spent the past three seasons in the Braves farm system. This year, his first with Mississippi, Franco has combined to post a 5-7 record with a 3.49 ERA (39 ER/100.2 IP) across 15 starts and 23 total outings.
