Quin Grogan joins Kernels from Extended Spring Training

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that RHP Quin Grogan will join the Kernels from Extended Spring Training and LHP Domenick Carlini has been assigned to Extended Spring Training. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.
The Twins selected Grogan in the 30th round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Lewis & Clark State College. He split time last season between the GCL Twins and Elizabethton, posting a combined 2-3 record and 3.64 ERA in 14 games (one start). In 29.2 IP, he allowed 24 hits and 13 runs (12 earned) with 14 walks and 32 strikeouts.
Carlini pitched in two games for the Kernels (one start) posting a 4.05 ERA with no record. In 6.2 IP, he allowed six hits and three runs (all earned) with two walks and seven strikeouts.

Grogan is active and available for today's 2:05 PM game against the Kane County Cougars. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster remains at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with four players currently on the DL.
The Kernels continue a seven game home series today at 2:05 PM against the Kane County Cougars, the Midwest League affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Gates open at 1:00 PM and the current home stand continues through Wednesday, April 26th.
