Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that C Ryan Jeffers will join the Kernels from Elizabethton and C/INF Ben Rodriguez has been promoted to Fort Myers. Brian Maloney, Twins Senior Manager of Minor League Operations, announced the move.
The Twins selected Jeffers in the second round of the 2018 First Year Player Draft out of UNC Wilmington. In 28 games at Elizabethton, he hit .422 (43-102) with 3 HR and 16 RBI. He also hit seven doubles and drew 20 walks.
Rodriguez played in 53 games for the Kernels this season, batting .254 with 8 HR and 22 RBI. He was selected by the Twins in the 38th round of the 2017 First Year Player Draft out of Pepperdine.

With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with two players currently on the DL.
The Kernels begin a five-game home stand on Wednesday, July 25th, hosting the Clinton LumberKings at 6:35 PM with the gates opening at 5:30 PM. The upcoming home stand continues through Sunday, July 29th.
