Fresno, CA – Just moments ago, the Fresno Grizzlies and Fresno Street Eats announced the winners of Taco Truck Throwdown 12, the third Michelada Throwdown, and the first-ever Salsa Throwdown. The event, which started at 5pm at Chukchansi Park in downtown Fresno, was attended by over 10,500 fans. As one of the largest Taco Truck Throwdowns in recent memory, attendees consumed a total of over 60 gallons of salsa, over 3,000 micheladas, and over 40,000 total tacos throughout the evening.

On the taco side of the event, Tacos La Vaporera brought home the People’s Choice Award for the third year in a row, while the Judge’s Choice Award went to Tacos Jacinto who won for the first time at the event. Both winners were presented trophies for their accomplishments and now have their names etched in history as champions of the 12th annual Taco Truck Throwdown.

For the third Michelada Throwdown, Miche Firme swept the competition - winning both the Judge’s Choice and People’s Choice awards for the third year in a row.

Eight competitors squared off in the first-ever Salsa Throwdown with Javier’s Mexican Restaurant coming on top of the People’s Choice Award voting and Miguel’s Salsa taking home the Judge’s Choice Award.

Taco Truck Throwdown 12 featured top-tier entertainment all night, including headliners Cypress Hill (Insane in the Brain, Tequila Sunrise), Tha Dogg Pound (Doggy Dogg World, Let’s Play House), and That Mexican OT (Johnny Dang, LA Cobra). Also taking the stage this evening were acts from Teezzy Radio, DJ Kay Rich, Sum Slight, and The Purple Ones.

Taco Truck Throwdown returned this year with 25 trucks, 7 michelada booths, 8 salsa booths, Lucha Xtreme and numerous other community organizations and vendors.
