CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Cedar Rapids Kernels and the Minnesota Twins announce that outfielder Trey Cabbage has been transferred to the Cedar Rapids Kernels from the Double-A Wichita Wind Surge. Brian Maloney, Senior Manager, Minor League Operations for the Twins, disseminated the move.

Cabbage recently appeared in three games for the Wind Surge during his first-ever Double-A assignment. His best performance came Wednesday when he went 2-of-3 with two singles and a walk in a 14-1 win against the Springfield Cardinals. Cabbage also drew a walk in all three of his outings.

The Blaine, Tennessee native now resumes his fourth year of playing time for Cedar Rapids. Juan Henderson, Warner Madrigal, Brett Martinez, Jorge Millan, Dave Sagaser, and Joe Trenary are the only other men in modern franchise history to see action with Cedar Rapids in four consecutive seasons. Cabbage was originally signed by the Twins in 2015 after being drafted in the fourth round out of Grainger High School in Tennessee.

With the addition of Cabbage, the current Kernels roster now includes 27 active players, four people on the injured list, one individual on the temporary inactive list, and one man on the restricted list.

Cedar Rapids and Wisconsin are scheduled to play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 5:05 p.m., and postgame fireworks will take place after the end of the twin bill. Broadcast coverage with Chris Kleinhans-Schulz will be available on www.kernels.com and MiLB.TV.
