Twins and Kernels announce series of roster moves

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that OF Hank Morrison will join the Kernels from Extended Spring Training, OF Shane Carrier has been assigned to Extended Spring Training, and RHP Tyler Beardsley has been placed on the 7-day disabled list with right elbow bursitis.

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that OF Hank Morrison will join the Kernels from Extended Spring Training, OF Shane Carrier has been assigned to Extended Spring Training, and RHP Tyler Beardsley has been placed on the 7-day disabled list with right elbow bursitis. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.
The Twins selected Morrison in the 22nd round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Mercyhurst (PA) College. He played 20 games at Elizabethton in 2016, with a .148 batting average (9-61) with a double, two triples and 3 RBI.
Carrier played in 30 games for the Kernels, batting .215 (23-107) with a HR and 10 RBI.
Beardsley has made seven starts for the Kernels this season, posting a 3-3 record and 6.00 ERA. In 39 IP, he allowed 48 hits and 28 runs (26 earned) with seven walks and 20 strikeouts.

With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at 24 active players, one below the Midwest League maximum of 25, with four players currently on the DL.
The Kernels wrap up a four-game home stand tomorrow at 6:35 PM against the Clinton LumberKings, the Midwest League affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. They are on the road at Kane County, May 26-29 and return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, May 30th to host the Quad Cities River Bandits at 6:35 PM.
