Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that RHP Tyler Beardsley has been activated from the 7-day DL and RHP Evan Sanders has been placed on the 7-day DL with and undisclosed injury. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.
Beardsley went on the DL back on August 28th. He has made 15 appearances (14 starts) for the Kernels this season, posting a 4-8 record and 5.67 ERA. In 79.1 IP, he allowed 95 hits and 52 runs (50 earned) with 18 walks and 40 strikeouts. He was selected by the Twins in the 16th round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Sacramento State.
Sanders has made 14 appearances (5 starts) for the Kernels this season, posting a 2-4 record and 5.94 ERA. In 36.1 IP, he allowed 34 hits and 25 runs (24 earned) with 30 walks and 29 strikeouts. He was signed by the Twins as a non-drafted free agent on March 3, 2017 out of the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith.
Beardsley is scheduled to start today's 2:00 PM game at Beloit. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at the Midwest League maximum of 25 active players, with seven players currently on the DL and one player currently on the military leave list.

The Kernels wrap up the 2017 MWL regular season this afternoon at Beloit with first pitch scheduled for 2:00 PM. They host the Kane County Cougars in Game 1 of the MWL Western Division Quarterfinals on Wednesday, September 6th at 6:35 PM.
