Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that RHP Brusdar Graterol has been promoted to Fort Myers; LHP Tyler Watson and OF Jared Akins will join the Kernels; and C Robert Molina has been placed on the 7-day DL with a left hand contusion. Brian Maloney, Twins Senior Manager of Minor League Operations, announced the move.
Watson was promoted to Fort Myers on June 2nd and made four starts, posting an 0-1 record and 5.40 ERA. In 20 IP, he allowed 23 hits and 15 runs (12 earned) with 14 strikeouts and four walks. He was acquired by the Twins in a trade with the Nationals in 2017.
The Twins selected Akins in the 13th round of the 2017 First Year Player Draft out of Fresno State University. He played in 33 games with the GCL Twins, batting .253 with 3 HR and 16 RBI. He played in six games at Elizabethton this season, batting .379 (11-29) with a HR and 5 RBI.
Graterol made eight starts for the Kernels, posting a 3-2 record and 2.18 ERA. In 41.1 IP, he allowed 30 hits and 12 runs (10 earned) with 51 strikeouts and just nine walks. He was signed by the Twins as a non-drafted free agent in 2014.
Molina played in five games for the Kernels, batting .133 (2-15) with an RBI. He was signed by the Twins as a non-drafted free agent in 2013.

Watson and Akins are active and available for tonight's 6:30 PM game at Burlington. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with three players currently on the DL.
The Kernels begin a six-game road trip tonight in Burlington at 6:30 PM that continues through July 3rd. They return on Wednesday, July 4th to take on Wisconsin at 5:05 PM with the gates opening at 4:00 PM.
