Big Crowd, Big Winner On "Win A Car Night"

Rawhide have winning streak snapped, remain in first place
August 5, 2012

VISALIA - Everyone in the crowd held their breath in the middle of the 8th inning of last night's contest at Rawhide Ballpark as the fully restored 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix Sedan made it's way down the warning track on the first base line. Ed Dena shuffled all of the entries and pulled a slip of paper out of a big red bucket.

When it was all said and done, a lucky fan by the name of Dave Bellis was going home with a free car! Not a bad way to spend a night at the ballpark. The rest of the fans were rewarded for their attendance to last night's game, as they all received an opportunity to come back for Sunday's game absolutely free!

It was a bit of a rough night for the Rawhide though, as they saw their season-long winning streak snapped by the Ports in an 11-2 loss. However the Rawhide remain in sole possession of first place after the Modesto Nuts lost to the Bakersfield Blaze 5-3. The Rawhide will have the opportunity to win their second series in a row on Sunday night at 6 o'clock, as they will send Bradin Hagens (2-4, 5.24 ERA) to the mound against Jacob Brown (4-7, 4.24).

Sunday is another "Bark In The Park" day, so bring your dog out to the ballpark with a three dollar pooch pass! All proceeds from the pooch passes will go to benefit the Rawhide Foundation for Kids.

The Rawhide will have the day off on Monday before heading to Bakersfield for a three game set with the Blaze.
