SALEM, VA (Friday, September 1, 2017) - The Salem Red Sox will not play Friday night against the Winston-Salem Dash, as persistent rainfall made play impossible at Haley Toyota Field. The Sox and Dash will play a doubleheader Sunday, September 3, with first pitch in Game 1 set for 1:05 p.m., and Game 2 to follow.
The scheduled Andrew Benintendi Bobblehead giveaway has been moved to Monday's season finale, which will also be Fan Appreciation Day. Start time for that game is also at 1:05 p.m.

The Red Sox and Dash will begin their series on Saturday, September 2, on Military Appreciation Night, with the Sox offering free admission to any and all military service members. Due to the overwhelming support from Veterans of Foreign Wars, Military Family Support Center, and our fans donating tickets at every home game this year, Salem Red Sox President Ryan Shelton has decided to match our partners' contributions by giving free admission to all military service members (active or retired) who do not already have a ticket. Eligible fans can show their military ID at the gates for free entrance. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m., and Ben Gellman's pregame show begins at 5:45 p.m. on the Red Sox Radio Network.
