Beer Mongers beat Keys 8-4

SALEM, Virginia (June 13, 2019) - The Salem Red Sox notched an 8-4 victor over Frederick in the series opener on Thursday night at Haley Toyota Field. 

How it Happened
* Daniel Gonozalez made the start on the mound for the sox and went 5.0 innings while fanning 3 and letting 4 runs cross the plate.
* Frederick got on the board first with a lead off double by Cole Billingsley in the 1st inning, who later scored on a single to right field by teammate J.C. Escarra. Score 1-0. 
* Salem fought right back in the bottom of the 1st frame with a lead off double to left field by Jagger Rusconi, who later scored on a single by teammate Ryan Fitzgerald. Victor Acosta and Fitzgerald both scored on a line drive single to center by Edgar Corcino to up the score 3-1 in favor of the Sox.
* The Keys drove in 2 more runs in the 2nd inning with a line drive single to center field by Jomar Reyes. Game tied at 3-3.
* Another double by the Frederick lineup, plated another run to up the score 4-3 in the 4th inning. 
* Salem pulled ahead in the bottom of the 4th frame once again with a sacrifice fly and another double by Rusconi. Score now 5-4 with the Sox on top. 
* A fielding error by the Keys and a line drive single to right field by Charlie Madden, plated 3 more runs for the Sox in the 5th inning. Score 8-4 for the remainder of the contest in favor of Salem. 
* Eduard Bazardo carried the final 4 innings, holding the Dash scoreless while striking out 6.
