Sox & Hillcats Rained Out On Tuesday

Salem and Lynchburg Will Play Doubleheader at City Stadium on Wednesday

Salem, VA (May 29, 2012) - After waiting nearly 90 minutes with an ominous forecast looming, the precipitation intensified and Tuesday's expected ballgame was wiped out at LewisGale Field. With the series scheduled to shift to Lynchburg on Wednesday, the Red Sox and Hillcats will play two at City Stadium on Wednesday. First pitch is still TBD. Stay tuned to www.salemsox.com for an update to the official start time.

With Wednesday's scheduled twin-bill, the Red Sox now have four double-dips set for an 11 day span, including a home doubleheader this Saturday against Myrtle Beach. The Sox also have scheduled twin-bills for June 8 and 9 in Potomac.

Matt Barnes will be on the mound in game one of Wednesday's double-dip in Lynchburg. The righthander currently leads all of the minor leagues in WHIP and is second in ERA.
