LYNCHBURG, Virginia (April 9, 2019) - The Salem Red Sox, lead by a 4-for-5 night from Jarren Duran, clobbered Lynchburg with 19 hits in a 14-1 route Tuesday night at City Stadium.

How it Happened
* Ryan Fitzgerald scored the first run for the second consecutive night. The shortstop knocked a double and came around on a Garrett Benge single for a 1-0 Salem lead in the first.
* Tanner Nishioka lead off the second with a double and scored on a Jarren Duran double, extending the lead 2-0.
* Lynchburg's sole run crossed in the third inning on a groundout.
* Kutter Crawford crusied through four innings, striking out five and only allowing the one run.
* Joan Martinez delivered a brilliant three innings of two-hit relief and struck out seven.
* Salem ripped into the fourth inning, drilling Hillcat starter Justin Garza for four runs on four consecutive base hits. Isaias Lucena lead off with a double, Victor Acosta and Duran singled and Fitzgerald doubled, scoring himself on a Pedro Castellanos groundout to team ahead 6-1.
* The attack continued into the fifth inning with another Lucena double, Acosta single, Duran single and Fitzgerald double to push three more across and expand to a 9-1 lead.
* Marino Campana lead-off the seventh inning with a single, followed by Duran, Fitzgerald and Castellanos RBI for a safe 12-1 lead.
* Salem ended the game the way it started, attacking Hillcats pitchers with two more runs, highlighted by an RBI-double from Deiner Lopez who had entered the game just an inning prior for the final talyl of 14-1.
