FRISCO-The Missions took the opening game of their doubleheader, 4-1, but fell to the Roughriders in the nightcap, 2-1, Friday night at Dr. Pepper Ballpark.
Logan Allen won his league-leading ninth game of the year in the opener, coming within one out of his first career complete game before Andres Munoz came in to the get the save.
Matt Batten tripled home a run and scored twice while Josh Naylor reached base in all four of his plate appearances.
San Antonio squandered numerous scoring opportunities in game two, saddling starting pitcher Chris Paddack with a loss in his second Double-A start.
Paddack worked all six innings while allowing just two hits, both triples to Eliezer Alvarez, who scored both Frisco runs.
The Missions got two on to begin the second inning and eventually loaded the bases, but failed to score.
In the fifth inning, Taylor Kohlwey led off with a triple and was left standing at third.
Michael Gettys popped out to second. Fernando Tatis popped out to short, and Eguy Rosario flied out.
The Missions only run came courtesy of a two-out bases-loaded balk in the sixth inning.
