Limited 2017 Celebrity Series VIP Tickets Still Available

Meet former Chicago Cubs players Bill Buckner and Andre Dawson in a special VIP meet and greet this season

SOUTH BEND, IN - Only a limited number of tickets remain for the VIP meet and greets with former Chicago Cubs All-Star Bill Buckner on Thursday, May 18 and Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Andre Dawson on Thursday, June 15. Both appearances are a part of the 2017 South Bend Cubs Celebrity Series.

Buckner played for the Cubs from 1977 to 1984. In 1980, he won the National League batting title by hitting .324 for the season and was nominated to the 1981 All-Star Game. During his career, Buckner would play for the Los Angeles Dodgers, California Angles (now known as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim), Kansas City Royals and the Boston Red Sox. Twice, he finished in the top-ten in Major League Baseball in stolen bases (1974 and 1976), and twice led the league in doubles (1981 and 1983). Buckner was also the Chicago Cubs Class-A Short Season hitting coach from 2012-2013.

Dawson was a Chicago Cub from 1987-1992. He also played for the Montreal Expos, Boston Red Sox and Florida Marlins. An 8-time All-Star, he was named National League Rookie of the Year in 1977 after batting .282 with 19 home runs and 65 RBI. He won the Most Valuable Player Award in 1987 after leading the league with 49 homers and 137 RBI. Dawson batted .300 five times, drove in 100 runs four times and had 13 seasons of 20 home runs. A strong baserunner early in his career, he stole 30 bases three times. He is one of eight MLB players with at least 300 home runs and 300 stolen bases during his career. Dawson was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 2010.

Each VIP package includes a ticket to the game, two-hour all-you-can-eat buffet (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.), a South Bend Cubs hat, and a private meet and greet with each celebrity. The Bill Buckner Meet and Greet will be held in the Pepsi Stadium Club. The Andre Dawson Meet and Greet will be held in the lower level of the 1st Source Bank Performance Center. Both autograph signings will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m.
