South Bend Cubs Release 2018 Schedule

Schedule highlights include games over Memorial Day weekend and Independence Day weekend with special post-game fireworks shows.

SOUTH BEND, IN - After completing another record-breaking year, the South Bend Cubs announced their 2018 schedule Thursday.

"Over the last six seasons, our goal has been to improve the culture of the franchise by thrilling our guests and providing quality food & entertainment," said South Bend Cubs Team President Joe Hart. "It took years of effort but over the last three seasons, the success has been evident. Fans are flocking to downtown South Bend and Four Winds Field. But there is still more work to be done. This off-season, we'll continue to find ways to make the 2018 season even better than 2017."
Like 2017, South Bend will open the 140-game regular season schedule against West Michigan. The Cubs will travel to Comstock Park for a pair of games against the Whitecaps on April 5 and 6 before returning to Four Winds Field to open the home schedule on April 7.
Opening Night will include the return of Flat Screen Saturday with a special post-game fireworks show. A total of 15 fireworks shows and 11 flat-screen giveaway nights highlight the promotional schedule. More promotions and giveaways will be announced in the coming months.
Other schedule highlights include games on Memorial Day weekend (May 25-28) and Independence Day weekend (July 1-3). The team will wrap up the home schedule on August 31st and conclude the regular season on the road at Great Lakes (September 1-3).
All Monday through Thursday and Saturday home games start at 7:05 p.m., with the exceptions of May 9, 22, and 24 (10:35 a.m. start), May 28 (2:05 p.m.) and July 16 (1:05 p.m.). All Friday games will start at 7:35 p.m., and Sunday games will start at 2:05 p.m. with the exception of May 27 (7:05 p.m.). Gates open 1 hour and 5 minutes prior to game time for Monday - Thursday games. Gates open 2 hours and 5 minutes prior to game time for Friday - Sunday games. All game times and promotions are subject to change.

The South Bend Cubs are the Class A minor league affiliate of the World Series Champion Chicago Cubs. Over the past 29 seasons, the team has won five Midwest League titles, most recently in 2005, and has captured 12 division titles.
