South Bend, IN: In a pitcher's duel that lasted just one hour and 56 minutes, the South Bend Cubs got the last laugh over the Lansing Lugnuts on Wednesday night. After Miguel Amaya provided the only run of the evening on a solo home run off of lefty Zach Logue to win the game 1-0.

Logue and Brendon Little exchanged strikeouts inning after inning by hanging zeros and forcing the other to match what they were offering. For Little, the command of his three pitches were all outstanding on Wednesday. The fastball, curveball, and changeup all gelled well together as he finished with five strikeouts.
Little exited the game after the 7th inning, giving up just three hits in a scoreless evening. The southpaw took a no-decision, but the outing was the best of his 2018 campaign.
Lansing manager Cesar Martin decided to leave Logue out for an 8th inning of work. The dominant lefty made just the one mistake on a pitch left over the heart of the plate to Amaya. The next thing Logue knew, the baseball sailed over the wall all the way to the Cubs Den Team Store in deep left field.
The South Bend bullpen backed up the masterful seven frames of Little. Ben Hecht appeared for the first time since coming off the disabled list, tossing a shutout 8th inning. Brian Glowicki earned his fifth save of the season by pitching a scoreless 9th.
"I controlled the fastball well tonight," Little said. "That's what I've been working on for a lot of this season. I felt good out there."
With the win, South Bend improves to 19-25 on the campaign. They will have the opportunity to win the series tomorrow morning versus first place Lansing with right hander Rollie Lacy on the mound. First pitch is set for 10:35 a.m. from Four Winds Field.
