SOUTH BEND, IN - Ballpark Digest has announced The Ivy at Berlin Place as the recipient of the 2018 Editor's Choice for Outstanding Achievement Award. The $24 million mixed-use project will have the first series of tenants move in within the next few weeks.

"The Ivy at Berlin Place is the continuation of a promise made when we purchased the team in 2011," said South Bend Cubs Owner and Chairman Andrew Berlin. "We told the region we had big plans and made a commitment to develop and revitalize downtown. Soon, that promise will become a reality.
The first part of the project finished earlier this year as the United Federal Credit Union Rooftop opened in late-June. The space seats up to 300 people and includes stadium style seating, private restrooms, cash bar, and a breathtaking view of Four Winds Field and downtown South Bend.
"The stadium was built in 1987 with the premise that development would be around it," said South Bend Cubs Team President Joe Hart. "It's the first new construction downtown in decades. People talk about how it's changed the landscape and they are just excited to see that our owner has invested in this project. It gives a unique feel to the ballpark. We are incredibly honored to receive this award from Ballpark Digest."
The Chicago brownstone inspired buildings have a portion of the balconies overlook Four Winds Field with high end finishes and countertops. Buildings one and two will have the first new tenants move in mid-November while interior work continues inside buildings three and four.
"We've had a flurry of people signing leases," Hart said. "There are new professionals, young professionals, and folks who don't want to take care of a yard. We've even had a 91-year-old lady that signed a lease because it's always been her dream to live at a ballpark."
