Magic Mike Ruffs Up Dust Devils in 2-1 Win

Spokane, WASH. - Spokane right-hander Mike Ruff continued his early-season dominance on the mound and the Indians offense did just enough to escape with a 2-1 win over the Tri-City Dust Devils in in front of 1,723 fans at Avista Stadium for Gift Card Giveaway Night presented by Les Schwab Tires.

TOP PERFORMERS

Ruff produced his longest outing of the season, pitching into the eighth inning and allowing just one run and one walk while striking out eight. The 24-year-old improved his record to 3-1 and lowered his ERA to a sterling 2.31.

Drew Romo doubled and scored in the first to give the Indians an early lead. Colorado's No. 2 prospect is currently riding a nine-game hitting streak and leads the NWL with a .342 average.

Luke Taggart struck out three over 1.2 scoreless innings of relief to pick up his third save of the season. The right-hander out of Oklahoma has yet to allow a run in 13 innings this season.

TURNING POINT

After doubling and reaching third base on sac bunt from Julio Carreras in the second inning, Daniel Montano scored what proved to be the game-winning run after an errant pick-off attempt bounced off his helmet and into left field.

The Spokane Indians office and team store hours are 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM on Monday through Thursday and 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Fridays. On game days, the office and team store are open from 10:00 AM through the end of the game.
