SPOKANE, Wash. - After a truncated 2020 season, MLB teams return to the 162-game grind on Thursday with a total of twenty-three former Spokane Indians players opening the year on big league rosters. Spokane's former parent club—the Texas Rangers—leads the way with six Indians alums while the Miami Marlins, San Diego Padres, and defending American League champion Tampa Bay Rays each have a pair of former Spokane players on their squad. Spokane's new MLB affiliate—the Colorado Rockies—is one of 11 teams with a single Indians alum on their roster. Astros pitcher and future Hall of Famer Zack Greinke, who appeared in a pair of games for Indians in 2002, is the eldest statesman of the group at 37 years old while the 22-year-old Taveras is the youngest.
