Vancouver Series Recap: July 6 to July 11

Game 1: Tuesday, July 6th The Spokane Indians dug themselves a 7-1 hole after two innings and never recovered on Tuesday night. The Canadians took game one of the series, 9-3. Cade Harris went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Isaac Collins and Hunter Stovall also had two-hit performances in the loss.

Game 1: Tuesday, July 6th

The Spokane Indians dug themselves a 7-1 hole after two innings and never recovered on Tuesday night. The Canadians took game one of the series, 9-3.

Cade Harris went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Isaac Collins and Hunter Stovall also had two-hit performances in the loss.

Jared Biddy was a bright spot out of the bullpen. The right-hander didn't allow a run while striking out a trio of Canadians in 4.1 innings pitched.

Game 2: Wednesday, July 7th

The Indians avoided a three-game losing streak by defeating the Vancouver Canadians, 3-2.

Tied 2-2 in the top of the 8th, Isaac Collins smacked a double to center field that brought home Christopher Navarro for the go-ahead run and what proved to be the game-winning run.

Brenton Doyle led Spokane hitters, going 3-for-4 on the night and scoring a run. Starting pitcher Helcris Olivarez allowed just two earned runs through five innings while striking out nine. Fineas Del Bonta-Smith picked up his first win as a Spokane Indian while Dugan Darnell earned his second save.

Game 3: Thursday, July 8th

Spokane pulled off back-to-back wins over the Vancouver Canadians with a 5-4 victory on Thursday night.

The Indians' offense leaned on a big four-run sixth inning that proved to be the difference. Brenton Doyle led the offensive attack with a three-run home run to center field. Spokane held a 5-1 lead after the top of the 6th and held on from there.

Chris McMahon earned his High-A West leading 6th win and pushed his league-leading inning total to 61.0. The former Miami Hurricane only allowed one earned run and struck out seven in his six inning start. Dugan Darnell earned his third save in the last six days.

Game 4: Friday, July 9th

The Indians took a third-straight game from the Canadians on Friday night, 6-4, to move into a tie for third place in the High-A West.

Jack Blomgren had the big night at the dish. The former Michigan Wolverine went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a pair of runs.

Mitchell Kilkenny moved to a perfect 3-0 this season after allowing just two earned runs over seven innings of work. Boby Johnson picked up his second save of the season.

Game 5: Saturday, July 10th

A late-inning rally by the Vancouver Canadians snapped Spokane's three-game winning streak. The C's defeated the Indians, 5-3, Saturday night.

Kyle Datres finished the game 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI, including a solo home run in the 4th that gave Spokane a 3-2 advantage.

Spokane starter Trent Fennell allowed just two runs in five innings of work. Vancouver tied the game 3-3 with a sacrifice fly in the sixth. The C's took the lead for good with two run in the 8th and held on from there for the 5-3 win.

A pair of two-run home runs proved costly for Spokane in Sunday's 4-3 loss to Vancouver in the series finale. With the loss, the Indians and C's split the series three games apiece.

Vancouver's Sebastian Espino blasted a two-run home run in the third and Luis De Los Santos homered in the fifth inning, both of which came against Spokane starter Breiling Eusebio.

Niko Decolati led Spokane's bats going 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI. Kyle Datres doubled in the sixth inning to score Aaron Schunk.

The Indians return home to Avista Stadium on Tuesday, July 13th to open a six-game series with the Eugene Emeralds.
