PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (June 30, 2022) – The St. Lucie Mets enjoyed a full team victory with a 13-3 romp over the Jupiter Hammerheads on Thursday at Clover Park.

All nine players in the Mets lineup recorded a hit, eight players scored a run and six players drove in a run.

Starting pitcher Javier Atencio (2-0) pitched 5.0 shutout innings to get the win. Joshua Cornielly and Reyson Santos pitched the final four innings with Santos tossing two scoreless frames to finish out the game.

Stanley Consuegra went 2 for 4 with a two-run homer, double, five RBI and three runs scored. His two-run homer in the second inning off Edgar Sanchez (5-3) provided the Mets a 4-0 lead.

The Mets scored three runs in the fourth inning to take a 7-0 lead. Alex Ramirez hit a ground ball that was thrown away by Jupiter shortstop Cristhian Rodriguez for two runs. Consuegra followed with a sac fly.

Jupiter Angeudis Santos hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning to make it a 7-3 game, but the Mets scored six runs in the eighth inning to pull away.

Jack-Thomas Wold hit a RBI triple, Alex Ramirez laced run-scoring double, Consuegra ripped a two-run double and William Lugo got on the board with a hit that brought in a run.

Ramirez was 2 for 4 with a double, walk, two RBI and two runs.

Justin Guerrera was also 2 for 4 with a RBI and run.

The Mets (42-29, 2-4) and Hammerheads (37-32, 3-3) play the fourth game of their series at Clover Park on Friday. First pitch is 6:10 p.m. It’s Bark in the Park! Fans are encouraged to bring their dog to the game. Dog tickets are $3 with proceeds going to the St. Lucie County Humane Society.
