SAN JOSE, CA - The Rawhide had rallied after trailing by four runs to take a 6-4 lead when Ramon Hernandez hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning. But then the Giants started their own in the bottom of the frame.

San Jose the game on an RBI single by Jacob Heyward and a sac fly by Brandon Van Horn, and then had a runner on second base with two outs against Matt Brill in the seventh.
Sandro Fabian rolled a grounder at second that, at first glance, would have ended the inning. But Adam Walton's throw to first was wide and Heath Quinn came around to score from second. San Jose was on top 7-6.
Matt Winn would hit a leadoff home run against Robby Sexton in the eighth to give the Giants insurance in an 8-6 San Jose win.
The Giants struck early against Matt Peacock when Jalen Miller hit a two-run homer in the first and Wander Franco drilled a two-run shot in the third. Visalia (47-46/10-13) tallied solitary runs in the fourth and fifth innings on a solo homer by Marcus Wilson and a single by Walton.
Drew Ellis drove home Renae Martinez in the sixth and Mark Karaviotis singled to chase reliever Sandro Cabrera from the game. Nolan Riggs came on and surrendered Hernandez's three-run blast on his fifth pitch of the night.
But then Riggs (W, 4-4) settled in and held the Rawhide scoreless over the next two innings, setting the tone for San Jose (42-51/8-15) to come back.
Brill (L, 1-2) was given the loss, despite the fact that the only run on his record was unearned.
Wilson led the Visalia offense with three hits while five other players added a single hit. Every Rawhide player reached base by a hit or a walk.
Peacock lasted five innings and was tagged for six runs on nine hits, both of which were season highs, and six strikeouts. Giants starter Logan Webb pitched into the fifth for the first time this year and was charged with two runs on just three hits with five strikeouts and three walks.
Visalia continues the series in San Jose tomorrow evening. The Rawhide will send a to-be-determined starter against Giants LHP Domenic Mazza (1-1, 1.98). First pitch is at 5 PM and the live radio broadcast will be available on rawhidebaseball.com.
