Hartford, CT- Four Harrisburg relievers combined to shutout the Hartford Yard Goats on five hits Saturday night, 3-0, in front of 6,769, the 30th sellout of the season at Dunkin' Donuts Park. The Senators also won the day game, 4-2, in eight innings. The day-night doubleheader drew 11,313 and brought the attendance on the home stand to 38,484. Brady Dragmire, normally a reliever, was making his second start of the season. He pitched three scoreless innings and was followed by Braulio Lara, Ryan Brinley and Andrew Robinson, who retired the side in order in the seventh to nail down his eighth save and preserve Laura's third win (3-2) of the season.
Harrisburg scored the only run it needed in the third inning, when Michael Taylor opened the inning with a double, moved to third on a ground out and scored on a wild pitch by starting pitcher Johendi Jiminian. José Marmolejos ripped an upper deck home run down the right field line to make it 2-0 and Dan Gamache added an RBI-single in the eighth inning.
Jiminian pitched 2.2 innings and allowed two runs on four hits. He walked one and struck out two. Will Lamb gave up a run on three hits in 3.1 innings, while walking one and striking out five. Shane Broyles pitched a scoreless seventh inning.
Josh Fuentes had two hits for the Yard Goats, while Taylor - on a rehab assignment from the Washington Nationals - broke an 0-for-10 stretch in the series with two doubles to pace the Senators. Marmolejos had three hits and Gamache two hits in Harrisburg's eight-hit attack.
The Yard Goats go for a split of the four-game series Sunday afternoon at 1:35. Righthander Parker French will pitch for the Yard Goats against Senators' righthander Austin Voth. The game will be broadcast on AM 1410 WPOP and on iHeart Radio.
