Portland, Maine- The Hartford Yard Goats defeated the Portland Sea Dogs with a one-run victory, 4-3 on Thursday afternoon at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine. The Yard Goats battled back from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits and scored a pair of runs in the eighth inning to win the game and claim the four game series against the Red Sox affiliate. Yard Goats closer James Farris pitched out of a bases loaded no-out situation in the night inning to earn his fifth save. Ryan McMahon tied the game with a two out double in the eighth inning and Drew Weeks put Hartford in front with an RBI single. The Yard Goats have won five of their last six games on the road and return to Dunkin' Donuts Park tomorrow night to take on the Akron RubberDucks at 7:05 PM.   The Yard Goats have won two of their past three series.

The Sea Dogs scored a pair of unearned runs in the first inning off Hartford starter Jack Wynkoop, ending his consecutive scoreless inning streak at 15. Branford native and former UConn start Mike Olt dropped a two out single into short right field, scoring Rafael Devers and Nick Longhi, giving the Sea Dogs a 2-0 lead.
The Yard Goats tied the game on a pair of solo home runs in the second inning off Sea Dogs starter Jalen Beeks, ending his consecutive scoreless innings streak at 25, three shy of a franchise record. Dillon Thomas cracked his third homer of the season off the videoboard in left center field and two batters later Dom Nuñez sent one over the right field fence, his fourth blast of the season, tying the game at 2-2.
Neither team would score again until the seventh inning when the Sea Dogs took a 3-2 lead on a fielder's choice ground ball. However, the Yard Goats batted back again with a two out rally in the eighth inning. Max White walked and scored on Ryan McMahon's RBI double off reliever Ty Buttrey. Drew Weeks followed with an RBI single, scoring McMahon and giving Hartford the lead.
