Yard Goats Get Swept in Reading     
Reading, PA- The Reading Fightin Phils blasted four home runs and defeated the Hartford Yard Goats by the score of 7-2 on Sunday night at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading, Pennsylvania. Mitch Walding and Nick Rickles hit back to back home runs to break a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning and Walding struck again in the seventh inning with a 3-run homer as the Fightin Phils completed a three game sweep. Phillies prospect Scott Kingery also homered for the Fightins who have won five straight games. The Yard Goats have lost four in a row and finished their road trip at 1-5. The Yard Goats are off on Monday and begin a six game homestand against the New York Yankees affiliate, the Trenton Thunder on Tuesday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park.   

The Yard Goats scored the first run of the game in the second inning off Reading starter Tommy Bergjans in his Double-A debut. Correlle Prime singled and advanced to third base on Dom Nunez' double. Josh Fuentes hit in infield grounder scoring Prime and gave the Yard Goats a 1-0 lead.    
The Fightin Phils took a 2-1 lead in the third inning as Phillies #9 prospect Scott Kingery cranked a 2-run homer over the centerfield fence off Hartford starter Sam Howard. Kingery's Eastern League leading 18th homer scored Jiandido Tromp who led off the inning with a single.
The Yard Goats tied the game in the fifth inning as Josh Fuentes hit a long home run to left centerfield. The homer was his fifth of the season and came off Bergjans and evened the score at 2-2.
Hartford starter Sam Howard worked five innings, allowing two runs on six hits and turned things over to reliever Johendí Jiminian in the sixth inning. Jiminian would be reached for three home runs over the next two innings in his first appearance with the Yard Goats after getting transferred from Triple-A.
In the sixth inning Mitch Walding homered to right centerfield and Nick Rickles followed with a homer to centerfield and the back-to-back round trippers gave the Fightins a 4-2 lead. In the seventh inning Mitch Walding belted a 3-run homer off Jiminian giving Reading a 7-2 lead.     
The Yard Goats are off on Monday and open up a homestand on Tuesday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park against the New York Yankees affiliate, the Trenton Thunder. RHP Ryan Castellani will pitch for the Yard Goats and LHP Justus Sheffield will pitch for the Thunder. The broadcast can be heard on AM 1410 WPOP or on iheart radio.
