Harrisburg, PA- The Hartford Yard Goats defeated the Harrisburg Senators by the score of 6-1 on Sunday afternoon at FNB Field in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
The Yard Goats rallied for five runs with two outs in the first inning off Senators starter
Yard Goats starting pitcher Jack Wynkoop was very impressive and retired 18 of the first 20 batters faced over the first six innings, including the side in order four times. After hitting a batter to start the seventh and giving up a double, he worked out of a second and third base jam to stand both runners. He pitched seven scoreless innings for the second time over his last three starts.
The Yard Goats added a run in the seventh inning to make it 6-0.
Harrisburg's only run came in the eighth inning off reliever D.J. Johnson, on an RBI infield single by Zach Collier. Johnson pitched the final two innings of the game.
The Yard Goats start a seven game homestand on Monday night and will play the first of a three games series against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays affiliate) at 7:05 PM at Dunkin' Donuts Park. The broadcast can be heard on AM 1410 WPOP or on iheart radio.
