Sneak Peek of PNC Field Set for April 3

Team Workout, Concessions, Family Fun Zone & More
March 27, 2013
MOOSIC, Pa. - Insert awesome movie trailer voiceover here.  "In a world where brand new gorgeous ballparks create fervent interest, PNC Field raises the bar to a zenith never before experienced in minor league baseball."  Previews are great.  So dramatic.  So eye-catching.  So enthralling.  Previews generally do what they are designed to do - make you want to see the full real thing as soon as you can.  A preview is just what NEPA is invited to experience when the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) host a "Sneak Peek" of their reconstructed home, PNC Field, on April 3.

Free and open to the public, the "Sneak Peek" raises the curtain on the new front porch of our community a night before the squad's 2013 season opener.  Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. for guests to experience many of the highlights they will enjoy 72 times this regular season.  That includes the ballplayers themselves.  The 2013 RailRiders will practice on the field, giving an early glimpse of what this year's team will look like.  Select players will be available for autographs during the evening as well.

But it doesn't stop with just baseball.  All concession stands will be open with the latest and greatest menu items available for purchase.  The inflatables in the Family Fun Zone can entertain the kids and the entire family will enjoy their first live look at the team's state-of-the-art video board systems including the enormous FanVision board in left-center and the very unique 150' long LED wall that owns from right-center to true right.

"We as a staff are just as excited as everyone else to experience PNC Field," said RailRiders president/GM Rob Crain.  "An event like this helps us guarantee a smoother ride on Opening Night, and gives our guests an opportunity to taste a piece of the amenities and all of the jaw-dropping beauty they will enjoy once the season gets underway the next night."

The RailRiders' 2013 season gets underway with the grand opening of a reconstructed PNC Field on April 4 when the defending IL champion Pawtucket Red Sox come to town for a rematch of their 2012 playoff clash with SWB.  It will mark the first "Thirsty Thursday" promotion of the year with $1 beer specials and $1 Pepsi products along with a pre-game live band performance and post-game fireworks.  Single-game tickets are on sale now.
