Snappers Fall in Series Opener to Quad Cities

BELOIT, Wisc - The Quad Cities River Bandits rolled into Beloit to face the Snappers for three games. On the first night of their series Quad Cities beat Beloit by a score of 5-3.

Lou Trivino started off hot for Beloit, striking out his first four batters and pitching four scoreless innings. He ended up getting the loss and goes to 1-3 on the season. Trivino struck out eight batters and finished his night with a 4.18 ERA in 6.2 innings.

Neither team scored until the Snappers put two runs on the board in the fourth inning with a pair of double from Tyler Marincov and Luis Baez.

Quad Cities started knocking some runs in the fifth when they scored three runs. One of them was on a wild pitch by Lou Trivino.

The Snappers scored one more run on a sacrifice fly to left field by BA Vollmuth to tie up the game in the bottom of the fifth.

Quad Cities' Tyler White singled to score Ronnie Mitchell to give the River Bandit's the lead in the sixth inning and Conrad Gregor added to the lead by singling to score Brett Phillips shortly after Stuart Pudenz came in to replace Trivino.

Stuart Pudenz didn't give up any more runs and neither did Dominique Vattuone when he came in to pitch. The Snappers couldn't answer back and ended up falling to the River Bandits, 5-3.
