Snappers Win Series Over River Bandits

BELOIT, Wisc -Beloit was able to pull out their second win in a row by beating the Quad Cities River Bandits by a score of 6-3 with the help of a grand slam from Tyler Marincov.

Marincov hit a grand slam in the fourth off of Quad Cities' Tyler Brunnemann to score Jaycob Brugman, BA Vollmuth, and Ryan Huck. The grand slam was the first of the year for the Snappers and the third home run of the season for Marincov. He finished the afternoon with 5 RBIs.

Quad Cities attempted to come back but couldn't score more than two runs in the eighth inning to bring the score to 5-3. The Snappers responded right back with an insurance run off of a force out to second base by Marincov to make the final score 6-3.

Chris Lamb got the start but Junior Mendez got the win by pitching two innings and allowing one hit and walking one batter. He finished with a 9.00 ERA. Sam Bragg ended up getting the save for Beloit as he threw three innings and allowed four hits while finishing with a 2.18 ERA.

The Snappers go on the road to Peoria for three nights and then go on to Quad Cities to face the River Bandits for three nights. The team returns home to Beloit on May 12th to face the Kane County Cougars at 11:00am .
