Rochester, NY --- The Rochester Red Wings scored the game's only runs in the second inning to break the Durham's five-game winning streak, handing the Bulls a 4-0 defeat on Tuesday night at Frontier Field.
JB Shuck doubled in two runs, followed by a run-scoring double by Engelb Vielma and single from Zack Granite that chased home another run as the Red Wings (20-19) took a 4-0 lead against Jose DeLeon (L, 0-1).
Meanwhile, the Bulls (28-15) were stymied by Jason Wheeler (W, 4-1), who fanned nine against no walks over seven-plus innings to earn the win.
De Leon was making his Tampa Bay Triple-A debut after being acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers last January. The consensus Top 30 minor leaguer worked four-plus innings, permitting eight hits and four runs (earned), while walking one and striking out four.
Jake Bauers collected three of the Bulls' six hits.
Yonny Chirinos worked four scoreless innings, allowing one hit and struck out four.
Durham was blanked for the first time in 2017.
Ryan Yarbrough (3-2, 3.45) opposes Aaron Selgers (4-3, 3.83) on Wednesday night at 7:05 PM ET from Rochester.
