Pawtucket, RI --- Ryan Weber worked seven scoreless innings, while Brandon Snyder drilled a two-run home run to break a scoreless tie as Durham blanked Pawtucket 3-0 on Saturday night at McCoy Stadium.
Weber (W, 8-5) permitted just four hits and fanned five during his longest outing of the season. Weber, who beat Pawtucket (59-64) for the second time this season, lowered his league-leading ERA from 2.61 to 2.43.
Durham's victory, coupled with a doubleheader loss by the Norfolk Tides, increased its South Division lead to 4 1/2 games with 17 games remaining in the regular season.
Former PawSox infielder Snyder cracked a two-run homer in the sixth inning after a four-pitch, two-out walk to Austin Meadows.
Durham (68-54) tacked on an insurance run in the ninth when Nick Ciuffo singled home Rob Refsnyder with two outs for a 3-0 lead.
Colin Poche worked a perfect eighth, while Ian Gibaut (S, 11) closed down the PawSox in the ninth for his 11th save.
The Bulls close out their seven-game road trip Sunday afternoon at 1:35 PM ET with Austin Pruitt (2-0, 3.65) starting opposite Mike Shawaryn (2-0, 2.95).
