Tulsa, OK-The Tulsa Drillers (22-19) scored six times in the first inning and never looked back in handing the Arkansas Travelers (19-22) a fifth straight loss in an 8-2 decision on Saturday night. Tulsa starter Frank Duncan fired six shutout frames to earn the victory while Travs starter Anthony Misiewicz lasted only four innings. Arkansas did not score until the ninth inning when Joe DeCarlo smoked a homerun, his third of the year.
Moments That Mattered
* Tulsa had two runs home in the first but Arkansas got just one out on a possible double play ball that would have ended the frame. The next two batters then hit a two-run double and a two-run homerun to complete the six-run opening inning.
* Four straight hits in the fourth inning added a pair of runs for the Drillers.
* Rainis Silva lined a pinch-hit single in the ninth setting up Joe DeCarlo for a two-run homer that kept the Travs from being shutout.
