Seasonal Job Fairs

In preparation for the upcoming baseball season at McCormick Field, the Asheville Tourists are hiring individuals interested in working at the ballpark.

Would you like to go to work at the ballpark this summer? We are looking for energetic, outgoing, and realiable individuals to be a part of our team in 2019!

While Job Fairs have ended, we are still hiring for a few positions at the ballpark!

Guest Services

Usher

Responsibilities:

- Greet & help guests to their seats

- Clear understanding of McCormick Field, including concourse and seating bowl

- Make sure sections and seats are clean, and prepared for gates to open

- Answer questions or give directions around facility

- Manage crowd during event

- Ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced environment

Ticket Taker

Responsibilities:

- Responsible for greeting guests in friendly manner

- Checking, tearing, or scanning each ticket to ensure validity (correct date, valid game ticket)

- Providing direction to fans

- Clear understanding of ballpark policies and procedures

Box Office

Ticket Seller

Responsibilities:

- Process single-game tickets on the day of the game

- Deliver exceptional customer service

- Manage assigned cash bank without overages or shortages

- Clear understanding of ballpark policies, procedures, promotions, and ticket system

Food & Beverage

Cash Auditor

Responsibilities:

- Audit and record every cash pickup in accounting software

- Create and dispense starting bank for each POS

- Provide basic troubleshooting of QUEST POS to cashiers

- Enforce proper cash handling procedures for cashiers

- Follow policies and procedures set forth by PSC and management staff

Qualifications:

- Excellent accounting and written skills

- Prior experience counting and auditing cash

- Flexible work hours including weekends, nights, and holidays

Cash Manager

Responsibilities:

- Delivering, auditing, and picking up all cash register drawers

- Provide change when necessary

- Enforce proper cash handling procedures for cashiers

- Greet guests and resolve issues as needed

Qualifications:

-Prior experience counting and auditing cash

-Flexible work hours including weekends and holidays

Cashier

Responsibilities:

- Greet each guest with a smile

- Taking guest orders

- Operating cash register

- Handling all monetary transactions

- Follow PSC policies & Health Department guidelines

Qualifications:

- Ability to perform basic arithmetic

- Must be 18 years of age if position involves service of alcohol

- Must be 16 years of age if position does not involve service of alchol

- Friendly, outgoing personality

- Flexible work hours including weekends and holidays

Concession Stand Cook

Responsibilities:

- Operation of standard kitchen utensils and equipment

- Preparing food for guests

- Follow PSC policies & Health Department guidelines

Qualifications:

- Prior cooking experience

- Friendly, outgoing personality

- Flexible work hours including on weekends and holidays

Hawker

Responsibilities:

- Selling and promoting food & beverage items while walking through seating bowl

- Track inventory and sales to balance at the end of the night

- Follow PSC policies and Health Department Guidelines

Qualifications:

- Excellent guest service skills

- Ability to perform basic arithmetic

- Must be at least 21 if the position involves serving alcohol

- Flexible work hours including weekends and holidayas

In-Seat Servers

In-Seat Server

Responsibilities:

- Accurate and efficient service for all guests

- Ensure menu is delivered to guests in a timely manner

- Follow PSC policies & Health Department

Qualifications:

- Must be at least 18 years of age

- Friendly, outgoing personality

- Flexible work hours including weekends & holidays

Runner

Responsibilities:

- Operation of concession equipment

- Preparing food for specific orders

Qualifications:

- Flexible work hours including weekends and holidays

Promotions

Energy Team/Jade Bombers

Responsibilities:

- Assisting with all on-field promotions

- Ensure the safety of all on-field contestants

- Entertaining fans during the ballgame

- Provide guest assistance to seats

Requirements:

- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required

- Must be enthusiastic, friendly, outgoing

- Must be comfortable in front of crowd

- Must be able to be on feet for long periods of time

- Must be at least 16 years of age

Mascot

*Mascots serve an essential role in representing the Tourists.*

Requirements:

- Entertain fans on-field in-between innings

- Interact with crowd during play

- Maintain friendly and positive demeanor in large crowds

- High-energy, skilled, outgoing

Requirements:

- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required

- Willing to be on your feet and moving around for long periods of time

- Must be able to perform in various weather conditions

- Must be able to adapt or improvise in situations

- Must be at least 16 years of age

Parking

Parking Attendant

Responsibilities:

- Monitor/control all guest parking lots

- Responsible for strategically parking vehicles to maximize spaces

- Parking lots consist of front lot (VIP Parking), Memorial Stadium lot (guests), and additional business lots

- Monitor parking lots for safety and security of vehicles and employees

Grounds Crew

Responsibilities:

- Be able to work at least 50% of Asheville Tourists home games. Shifts are: 9:00AM - 5:00PM and 5:00PM - 11:00PM.

- Be able to take instruction and work independently, with an eye for detail

- Maintain field to a professional standard

- Operate equipment and hand tools in a safe and efficient manner

- Conduct yourself in a professional manner around all teams and fans

Requirements:

- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds

- Work in extreme/inclimate weather

- Work long hours standing or moving

Bat Boys/Girls

Responsibilites:

- Various dugout upkeep

- Retrieve bats and foul balls during game

- Good communication with umpires

- Conduct yourself in a professional manner around players, coaches, and umpires

Stadium Operations

Clean-Up Crew

Responsibilities:

- Maintain cleanliness of facility

- Sweep concourse, main gate, and seating bowl after each game

- Use Kaivac machine to clean and sanitize bathrooms *training provided*

- Make sure bathrooms are stocked with tissue and paper towels

- Empty trash containers

- Mop up spills

Merchandise

Merchandise Attendant

Responsibilities:

- Greet and welcome guests to ballpark

- Maintain merchandise store upkeep during games

- Deliver exceptional customer service to all fans

- Maintain a balanced cash drawer
