Brian DeWine was named president of the Asheville Tourists in conjunction with the sale of the team to DeWine Seeds Silver Dollar Baseball, LLC in April 2010.

The fifth of eight children, Brian grew up in both Cedarville, Ohio, and the suburbs of Washington, DC. Like all members of the DeWine family, Brian has had a great passion for the game of baseball since his early childhood, loving not only the action on the field but also the "Hot Stove League" in the offseason.

Under Brian's leadership the Tourists continue to strive toward its mission statement of providing the families and residents of Western North Carolina with a special and affordable place to make memories together while experiencing the national pastime. Among the changes implemented on game nights since his arrival in Asheville include more promotional nights, 6:05 pm starts on Saturdays, a second mascot to help entertain the crowd, one dollar hot dog days, more fireworks nights, and admitting children age 5 and under for free. The 2019 season brought a record 187,718 fans to McCormick Field, a single season record for the franchise.

Brian also spearheaded the creation of a new identity and logo for the Tourists shortly after taking over the day-to-day operations of the team. The result incorporates both the history of baseball in Asheville and the excitement and fun Minor League Baseball represents. The new look can be seen throughout McCormick Field and around town as fans proudly wear their Tourists gear.

Brian is a 2002 graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. He also earned a Masters in Sport Management at The Ohio State University in 2003.

Brian and his wife, Kali, reside in Asheville and are active members of the community. Kali took over as the team Merchandise Manager in 2014. Their first child, Kathryn Becky, died prior to birth in November 2008 from a rare genetic disease. The couple's thirteen year old son, Parker, loves coming to work with his dad. Addison, their eleven year old daughter, was born minutes after Game One of the 2012 South Atlantic League Championship Series. Tucker, 8, has been a staple in the front office since September of 2015. In his free time, Brian enjoys spending time with his family, coaching the "Tiny Tourists" Tee-Ball Team and watching all sports, especially his beloved Clemson Tigers.

Brian wants every family's visit to McCormick Field to be as memorable as the many trips his family took to ballparks while growing up.

Larry Hawkins has spent more than 26 seasons in professional baseball, including 24 with the Asheville Tourists. Larry joined the Tourists in 1999 after two seasons as Director of Stadium Operations for the Clearwater Phillies in the Florida State League. He oversees all aspects of the Tourists operation, ranging from corporate sales to stadium and field improvements. He has helped the team thrive since taking over as General Manager in 2005. Under the leadership of Hawkins, DeWine Seeds Co., and the City of Asheville, the team has made several stadium upgrades.

Larry remains a fixture in the Asheville community by working with various non-profit organizations. Larry has been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Asheville since 2002. A native of Cashiers, and 1996 graduate of Western Carolina University, Larry resides in Fletcher with his two children, Blake and Emily.

Hannah is entering her eighth full-time year with the Tourists. After starting as a Promotions and Merchandise Intern in 2015, she held the roles of Group Sales Associate, Director of Ticket Operations, and now serves as Assistant General Manager.

The Shamokin, PA native graduated from Kutztown University with an undergraduate degree in Leisure and Sports Studies. She went on to complete her Master's degree in Sport Management at West Virginia University.

In her free time she enjoys reading and being active outdoors. Hannah is extremely excited to start another memorable year at McCormick Field.

Tyler is glad to work for the team he grew up cheering on. Being a Hot Spring, NC native, he was blessed to be given an opportunity to intern with the Asheville Tourists in 2013 while attending East Tennessee State University. After graduating with a Degree in Sports and Leisure Management, Tyler spent one year as the Director of Food and Beverage for the Bowling Green HotRods before being offered the same role with the Tourists in 2017. He currently holds the role of Chief Operating Officer, Food & Beverage.

2023 marks his seventh year back with the team. He's brought many exciting new food items to the ballpark and looks forward to elevating the fan experience every year. If you see him around the ballpark be sure to stop him and tell him about your favorite items on the menu!

Tyler and his wife Olivia reside in Woodfin, NC. In his spare time you can find him enjoying local hikes and scenery, online playing his favorite video games, or cheering on his favorite sports teams. Go Panthers!

Doug is in his thirteenth year as the Director of Broadcasting & Media Relations for the Asheville Tourists Baseball Club. Maurer has broadcast two Tourists championship victories in three post-season runs and called the 2015 SAL All-Star Game. Doug was named the 2017 South Atlantic League Media Relations Director of the Year.

Born and raised in Indianapolis and a graduate of Indiana University, Doug began his career in Minor League Baseball as a Marketing and Administrative Intern with the Princeton Rays of the Appalachian League. Prior to making the Blue Ridge Mountains his mainstay, Doug visited the area frequently during his childhood years, making him a huge fan of Asheville.

In addition to baseball, Doug broadcasts college football and men's and women's basketball for Mars Hill University. Maurer frequently speaks to groups, businesses, and schools in the community as well as emcees numerous events in Western North Carolina including the annual JDRF One Walk and the Walk to End Alzheimer's.

A dedicated Indiana Hoosiers and Colorado Rockies supporter, he is also a loyal fan of his hometown teams--the Indianapolis Colts, the Indiana Pacers, and the Butler Bulldogs. Doug will call all games again this season and is eager, once again, to bring his passion and personality to Tourists fans everywhere.

Michael will be going into his fourth season with the Asheville Tourists, after spending the 2019 season as an Assistant Stadium Operations Manager and returning full time in 2021. Michael graduated from Arizona State University in 2018 with a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, concentrating in Business and Economics. Following graduation, Michael worked at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in the Event and Facilities Operations department for the LA Rams and University of Southern California.

Michael grew up in Peoria, Arizona, so naturally is a fan of all Arizona sports teams - rooting the hardest for the Arizona Cardinals. Outside the ballpark, you can find him at a local brewery, watching sports, or going to a music festivals.

Alyssa is entering her fourth season with the Tourists as the Promotions Manager after spending the 2019 season interning with the Charleston RiverDogs, the Single A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Owosso, MI native graduated from Central Michigan University in 2018 with an undergraduate degree in Integrated Public Relations and Marketing. She moved to Asheville after the completion of her internship and began working with the Tourists in 2020.

During games, you can find her on the field directing in-between inning promotions, talking to the crowd on the mic, or chatting with fans in the seating bowl! In her free time, she loves hiking, reading, and trying out new restaurants in Asheville. She's looking forward to another great season of Tourists baseball!

Jamie is entering her second full-time year with the Asheville Tourists. She started out as an intern during the 2021 season and upon graduating, moved to Asheville to continue working during the 2022 season.

The Newark, OH native graduated from Wittenberg University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management and Communication and Digital Media.

When she's not at the ballpark, you can find her exploring the city of Asheville and hanging out with friends. Jamie is looking forward to providing another memorable season to each Tourists fan.

Rachel is proud to serve as the Ticket Manager for your Asheville Tourists. With her family’s roots just 45 minutes south in Brevard, North Carolina, she feels right at home representing this team and community.

Rachel graduated with her BA in Radio/TV with a concentration in Sports Media from the University of Central Florida. She’s spent the majority of her career in the fitness industry, starting and operating a new business before settling down in Asheville in 2022.

Rachel is a sports fanatic and a diehard fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels. When she’s not at the ballpark, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, working out, and going to concerts. She’s excited to celebrate the 100^th year of McCormick field with all the wonderful Tourists fans!

Originally from Charlotte, NC, Jessica moved to the mountains to attend Western Carolina University and graduated with three Bachelors in Sport Management, Marketing and Management. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Sport Administration from Arkansas State University as well. During her time as a Catamount, she was a student manager for WCU’s baseball team for all 4 years.

When she can find some free time in her busy schedule, she enjoys spending time with her family back home in Charlotte. Some of her hobbies include listening to music, painting, and pottery.

Jessica is entering her second full-time year with The Asheville Tourists after interning during the 2022 season. She is excited for another season of Tourists baseball and as always “Go T’s”!

Hanna is entering her second full-time year with the Asheville Tourists after previously being a part-time Sales Associate for the West Virginia Black Bears in Morgantown, West Virginia for the 2022 season and a Promotions Intern during the 2021 season.

Born in Pinch, WV, Hanna has lived in many states such as West Virginia, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Tennessee within the past 15 years. She graduated from West Virginia University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management along with minors in Marketing, Communications, and Event Planning.

Hanna enjoys exploring the city and discovering new restaurants. In her free time, she likes to hang out with friends and family, and play with her dog, Django! Hanna is looking forward for the upcoming 2024 season with the Tourists.

Joey is entering his second season with The Asheville Tourists as the Sports Turf Manager after spending five seasons with the Salem Red Sox as their Field Director, and one season prior with the Burlington Bees as the Grounds Assistant.

Originally from Plainfield, Illinois, Joey is a graduate of Monmouth College (Illinois), where he obtained his degree in Sport Management/Kinesiology and Political Science. While attending Monmouth Joey played football and baseball.

Typically you can find Joey at the ballpark out on the field watering and mowing. But, when he is not at the stadium he enjoys to spend time hiking with his fiancée Haylee, out on the golf course, or cheering on his favorite sports teams. He is very excited to join The Asheville Tourists family, and is looking forward to his upcoming wedding this fall.
