ASHEVILLE- The Asheville Tourists played another nail-bitter against the Augusta GreenJackets. For the third time in three games the final score was decided by one run. On Wednesday, it was the Tourists who came out on top 4-3 thanks to a walk-off RBI single by Will Golsan in the bottom of the ninth.
The game was tied 3-3 entering the final frame when John Cresto pulled a double down the left field line to begin the inning. Cade Harris moved Cresto to third with a deep flyout to centerfield. Augusta decided to bring their centerfielder into the infield that showed a five infielder look to Golsan. Will worked a full count and then ripped a groundball fair inside the third base bag to plate Cresto and give the Tourists the win.

Asheville built a 3-0 lead with two runs in the fourth and another in the fifth. Cresto capped a two-out rally in the fourth inning with a two-run single that scored Coco Montes and Danny Edgeworth . In the fifth Niko Decolati tripled home Golsan.
The Tourists starting pitcher, Colten Schmidt , ran his scoreless inning streak to 17.2 innings as the left-hander worked into the sixth inning tonight. Schmidt has not allowed an earned run over his last 24.1 innings pitched.
Augusta made things interesting with a trio of runs in the seventh inning to tie the game. The GreenJackets finished the contest with 13 hits; however, all of them were singles. Riley Pint kept the score tied with a strong eighth inning and Alexander Martinez captured the win by pitching a perfect top of the ninth.
The Tourists now head to Charleston to open up a four-game series with the RiverDogs. Asheville is seven games back of Charleston with 11 games remaining in the first half slate.
