ASHEVILLE- The Beer City Tourists defeated the Greenville Drive on Thirsty Thursday by a final score of 4-2. With the win, the Tourists recorded another series victory three games to one.
Ryan Vilade played a big part in Beer City's win. Vilade knocked in the Tourists first run of the game with a two-out RBI single in the second inning. With Beer City down 2-1 in the sixth, Vilade came through again; this time with a two-run Home Run to right-centerfield.
Bret Boswell added a solo Home Run in the seventh to give Beer City some extra cushion. Beer City's starting pitcher, Nick Kennedy, did not factor in the decision but the left-hander pitched an excellent game. Kennedy went 5.2 innings and limited the Drive to only five hits and two runs.
Braxton Lorenzini entered the game in the sixth and struck out Kervin Suarez to escape a bases-loaded threat. Robert Tyler earned a hold with a scoreless eighth inning and Nate Harris notched his second save of the season with a pair of strikeouts in the ninth.
The Tourists have now won four of their last five games and open up a five-game series against the Lexington Legends beginning on Friday night. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm.
