PENSACOLA, Fla. (May 19, 2017) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, out-hit the Pensacola Blue Wahoos but dropped the second game of the series 3-2 Friday night at Blue Wahoos Stadium.

After giving up three runs on three hits in the second, Alex Blackford (0-2) settled in and retired the last eight batters he faced in a five-inning start. Justin Anderson and Ivan Hernandez combined to set down nine consecutive hitters in relief. Pensacola (24-18) did not have a runner reach base after Josh VanMeter singled with one out in the third.

However, despite the pitching performance, the BayBears (17-25) left 10 men on base in the game. Despite scoring runs on bases loaded walks by Wade Wass and Andrew Daniel in the third and fifth, respectively, the Blue Wahoos managed to hold their lead.

Domingo Tapia (2-2) relieved Austin Ross in a 3-2 game with the bases loaded in the fifth. Alberto Triunfel grounded out to end the threat, and Tapia retired the side in order in each of the next two frames. Jimmy Herget notched a six-out save, his 11th of the season.

Forrestt Allday went 1-for-3 with a walk and a hit-by-pitch, extending his on-base streak to 24 games.

The BayBears continue the five-game road series against the Blue Wahoos Saturday at 6:35 p.m. CT. Right-hander Grayson Long (1-2, 3.12 ERA) is slated to make the start against righty Luis Castillo (1-2, 3.07 ERA) for Pensacola.
