Rumble Ponies and Baysox Combining Forces For Dream, Disability, and Do Camp on July 27th

July 12, 2019

BINGHAMTON, NY - In conjunction with the Dave Clark Foundation the Binghamton Rumble Ponies are pleased to announce the 7th Annual Dream, Disability, and Do (D3) camp will be returning to NYSEG Stadium on Saturday, July 27th. The D3 camp has been a part of Minor League Baseball since its inception back with the Fort Myers Miracle in 2006. The Dave Clark Foundation has camps spanning from Fort Myers, FL to Hartford, CT, as well as Hudson Valley, NY.

D3 Day sports camps were created by Dave Clark, the only pitcher in professional sports history to pitch on crutches, and Doug Cornfield, a former NCAA medal winning runner at Georgia, who himself had a child born with no arms. These camps allow professional players to interact with children with special needs in various drills and compete in sports with no limitations.

From 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM individuals of all ages afflicted with any kind of disability (physical, behavioral, and/or both) will have the chance to get in the game with a special clinic put on by the entire Rumble Ponies team and staff. Annually, the D3 clinic brings over 100 individuals to the ballpark to teach baseball fundamentals through various skill stations.

"For the past five years, it's been amazing to see the mutual impact that the D3 clinic has provided for both the players and the participants. Personally, it's great to see all the smiles, hear all of the laughs, and feel the excitement that everyone has with putting the event on. It is one of the staples of our schedule every year and we are looking forward to many more camps to come," said Rumble Ponies Director of Community Relations, Eddie Saunders.

This year's camp will have a special twist added to it. For the first time in it's fourteen year history, two Minor League Affiliates will come together as select members of the Bowie Baysox (AA-Orioles) will be joining in on the excitement.

Dream, Disability, and Do is currently enrolling with limited spaces available. Please log onto www.d3day.com to reserve your spot today.

For questions, please reach out to Eddie Saunders, Director of Community Relations at 607-722-FUNN (3866) or by email at [email protected].

Individual game tickets are on sale now for all 2019 Home games Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, over the phone by calling (607) 722-FUNN, or online at www.bingrp.com.
