The Birmingham Barons start the series with Chattanooga with a 3-2 win at AT&T Field on Tuesday night. The Barons scored three single runs in the first, second, and fifth innings to get the one-run win.

Starting pitcher LHP Ky Bush (1-1) turned in a gem, going 6.0 innings and only giving up four hits, four walks, no runs, and seven strikeouts. Bush lowered his ERA to 1.65.

In the first inning, the Barons' Brooks Baldwin singled to center, and RBI leader Edgar Quero hit one off the fence in centerfield to score Baldwin from first base. The Barons (11-5) took an early 1-0 lead. Quero leads the Southern League with 20 RBIs.

In the second inning, Baldwin again singled to center field, scoring Michael Turner. Baldwin collected two more hits in the game and raised his league-leading average to .415. In the top of the 5th inning, leadoff batter Terrell Tatum hit his second home run of the season, and the Barons led 3-0 at the midway point.

Chattanooga (4-11) wouldn't stay down for the rest of the game. Jack Rogers doubled to score Ivan Johnson and Austin Callahan reached on a fielder's choice to score Jack Rogers. The Lookouts trimmed the score to 3-2 Barons in the bottom of the seventh inning. Left-handed reliever Gil Luna came in the eighth inning and recorded five outs. He pitched 1.2 innings with no runs and three strikeouts to get his second save of the season.
