The Boise Hawks (5-5) beat the Eugene Emeralds (5-5) by a final score of 5-1 on Sunday night. Boise scored three runs in the first inning and got a stellar outing from Frederis Parra to get the win.

Boise picked up right where they left off from yesterday, as Terrin Vavra and Cade Harris both singled to start the game. Eugene's starter Brailyn Marquez threw a wild pitch allowing both runners to advance. Danny Edgeworth then hit a groundball to the first baseman and the catcher Jonathan Soto was charged with an error as Soto missed the ball on throw from first to tag Vavra out.

The error allowed Harris to score as well making it 2-0 Hawks. Later in the inning, LJ Hatch singled to right field scoring Edgeworth making it 3-0.

Frederis Parra, Boise's starter got a big double play ball to end the bottom of the first as Eugene had runners on the corners. Parra went six innings of shutout ball for the Hawks, striking out six and walking nobody. Eugene left nine men on base for the game.

In the 4th, Terrin Vavra drove home Luke Morgan to make it a 4-0 Boise advantage. In the 5th, Cade Harris hit his first home run of his pro career over the wall in right to make it 5-0 Hawks.

After Parra, it was Boise's Shelby Lackey who came on and threw two innings of shutout baseball. In the 9th, Jefry Valdez walked Ramsey Romano and allowed a single to Luis Diaz as Romano went to third. Eugene got a run on a wild pitch by Valdez, but the righty got through the 9th and gave Frederis Parra his first win of 2018. Marquez was the losing pitcher in the game.
