Game 4 - Boise Hangs On, Wins 3-2 Over Spokane

Boise scores two in the 8th and rolls to its third win in four games. The victory marks the first series win in Spokane since 2012.

The Boise Hawks (3-1) beat the Spokane Indians (1-3) by a final score of 3-2 on Monday night. The win marks a series win at Avista Stadium. The first time it has happened for Boise since 2012.
 
Cade Harris got on with a base hit in the first inning. Harris stole second, and then was knocked in by Danny Edgeworth to get the scoring started. Edgeworths RBI is his 6th of the year and his fourth straight game with at least one RBI.
 
With a 1-0 lead, Spokane got Miguel Aparicio to third with 2 outs in the bottom of the first. Jonah McReynolds hit it deep to left field, but a sensational play at the wall by Matt Hearn kept Boise in the lead at 1-0.
 
Spokane got their lone run in the 5th on a Curtis Terry solo home run to left. Boise starter Frederis Parra gave the Hawks five innings of one run baseball. Miguel Ausua went one inning on the mound for Boise, getting a three up, three down, 6th inning.
 
It was Hunter Williams who went two innings of shutout ball for Boise in the 7th and 8th and would end up getting the win. For the Hawks, in the top of the 8th, LJ Hatch led off with a single. Kennard McDowell came up with two outs and Hatch was able to advance to second on a wild pitch in the dirt. McDowell then ripped a single to right center scoring Hatch giving Boise a 2-1 lead. McDowell advanced to second on the throw to the plate.
 
Still in the 8th, Matt Hearn came up and knocked a single to center, scoring McDowell and making it a 3-1 Boise lead.Hayden Roberts came on to close the 9th. Roberts allowed a solo home run to Aparicio to start it off but came back with three straight outs to get his second save of the year.
 
The Hawks 3-2 win gives them the series victory with one more game to play tomorrow in Spokane, at 7:30 MT, on 101.5 KOOL FM.
